Shell Gas Uganda

Shell Gas Uganda is the specialized liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) division of Vivo Energy Uganda, the licensed marketer of Shell products in the country. The business was established as part of the Shell brand's long-term presence in Uganda, which spans over 65 years. Shell Gas is widely recognized for promoting LPG as a safe, clean, and efficient alternative to traditional fuels like charcoal or wood. It is particularly known for its extensive distribution network, which includes Shell service stations and authorized dealers across the country, as well as its specialized home delivery services for urban customers.

The division offers a comprehensive suite of LPG products and related energy services:

• Domestic LPG supply: Provision of cooking gas in various cylinder sizes, including 6kg (Ka-Portable), 12kg (Metallic and Gas Lite composite), and 45kg cylinders.

• Bulk industrial gas: Supplying large-scale commercial and industrial customers with bulk LPG stored in tankers and specialized bullets ranging from 45kg to 5,000kg.

• Institutional energy systems: Designing and installing tailored LPG systems for schools and other large institutions to transition away from biomass fuels.

• Home delivery services: Managing a dedicated toll-free delivery service for households in Kampala, Entebbe, and surrounding suburbs.

• Accessories and equipment: Retailing certified gas accessories such as grills, burners, regulators, and high-quality hose pipes.

• Safety training and education: Conducting public and customer training sessions on the safe handling and storage of LPG.

• National energy security partnerships: Working in joint venture with the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) to enhance national LPG storage and distribution capacity.

• Affordable financing programs: Partnering with the Uganda Energy Credit Capitalisation Company (UECCC) to enable more affordable access to LPG equipment for low-income households.
