Core Functions and Activities
The UIA works in collaboration with the government, the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda, and other stakeholders to foster a sound and ethical insurance environment.
Its main activities include:
Policy & Advocacy: Representing the views of the membership to the government and influencing the enactment of favorable legislation.
Industry Capacity Building: Facilitating training and professional development to enhance the skills of industry practitioners.
Consumer Protection & Awareness: Educating the public about insurance products, promoting transparency, and offering mechanisms for dispute resolution.
Market Development: Driving initiatives like the launch of the Motor Third Party Digital Sticker platform, which streamlines compliance and road user protection.
Market Research: Conducting studies and disseminating information to support informed decision-making within the industry.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Engaging in activities such as road safety awareness campaigns and community support initiatives.
