Management Sciences for Health (MSH)

Global Health Systems Organization

Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is a global non-profit advisory organization that has partnered with the Ugandan government for nearly two decades to build resilient health systems. It focuses on improving health service delivery by strengthening leadership, pharmaceutical supply chains, and health financing.

  • Strengthening Local Health Systems (SLHS): Launched in January 2025, this USAID-funded activity focuses on increasing public spending on health, enhancing the health workforce, and integrating digital health data systems.

  • Supply Chain Management: MSH has been a pivotal partner in transforming Uganda’s health supply chain, supporting the implementation of electronic logistics systems in over 1,400 facilities and helping develop the 10-Year National Health Supply Chain Roadmap.

  • Disease-Specific Programs: The organization implements projects to reduce the burden of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB), and Malaria by ensuring consistent access to quality-assured medicines.

  • Maternal & Child Health: MSH works to reduce maternal mortality through initiatives like group antenatal care (Pregnancy Clubs) and improving reproductive health services.

  • Private Sector Engagement: The firm actively collaborates with private healthcare providers to develop innovative financing models and improve the quality of care in the non-governmental sector.

  • Policy & Governance: It provides technical assistance to the Ministry of Health to improve public financial management and transparent governance within the health sector.
