Premier Roses Limited

Premier Roses Limited is one of Uganda’s largest commercial flower farms and a subsidiary of the Ruparelia Group of Companies. Established in 2003, it specializes in the large scale production and export of intermediate cut roses. As of 2026, it remains a key driver in Uganda's floriculture sector, contributing significantly to the country's foreign exchange earnings.

• Production scale: The farm spans over 100 hectares of land, with approximately 50 hectares currently under greenhouse cultivation. It produces over 12 million stems of roses annually.

• Rose varieties: The farm cultivates a wide selection of intermediate rose varieties in various colors, including popular types like Red Calypso, Tropical Amazon, and Akito.

• Market reach: Premier Roses exports nearly 100% of its production. The primary market is the European Union, with the majority of flowers sold through the Dutch flower auctions in the Netherlands.

• Certifications: The company is Fairtrade certified and holds MPS-ABC (environmental) and MPS-SQ (social) certifications, ensuring that its operations meet international sustainability and ethical labor standards.

• Employment: The farm is a major employer in the Entebbe-Kampala corridor, providing jobs and housing for over 1,500 workers, with a strong emphasis on female employment.

• Sustainability initiatives: The farm utilizes advanced hydroponic systems and integrated pest management (IPM) to minimize water usage and the reliance on chemical pesticides.
