AVAL Agroecology Ltd is a youth led Ugandan social enterprise founded in 2021 to address post-harvest food loss and underutilization of farm produce. Based in Kampala, the firm focuses on the fruit and vegetable value chain particularly pineapples by implementing sustainable value addition strategies such as solar drying to extend shelf life and increase smallholder farmers' incomes.

• Solar Processing Solutions: The company utilizes eco-friendly solar drying technology to transform highly perishable produce into nutritious, ready-to-eat dried snacks, powders, and fresh juices with a shelf life of up to one year.

• Zero-Waste Circular Economy: Beyond food, AVAL extracts fiber from pineapple leaves to create biodegradable packaging materials (replacing plastic) and synthetic human hair extension fiber.
